About Avino Silver & Gold Mines

Avino Silver & Gold Mines is located in the mineral rich Durango Region of Central Mexico. Avino was founded in 1967 and between 1972 and 2001 produced 16 million ounces of silver, 96 thousand ounces of gold and 24 million pounds of copper. The mine closed in 2001 due to low commodities prices and since the closure has increased its interest in the property to 89.35% and has drilled extensively on two zones to outline a new resource. Avino is currently working to re-open the mine and for 2008 has a new resource calculation and a 10 thousand tonne bulk sample planned.
